Ayati is a nonprofit organization with a mission to educate girls in rural India about optimal hygienic practices and provide the proper materials to help the lead better lives. I was blown away by the statistics: 25% of girls drop out of school when they start menstruating. The work this group is doing is incredibly important to improving these young girls’ lives and the growth of our society as a whole. I felt really privileged to photograph their Transformation Gala at Limani NYC and document the night. It was so powerful to see the room come alive and folks donate so much to an important cause.
